Hard water and my hair

One a month (or less, because it may overstrip your hair), add a tablespoon of baking soda to a handfull of shampoo and wash like normal. It cleans all the residue out.

go to a beauty supply co.. they have a product for hair that removes build up.. from swimming pool chlorine and other stuff. they shampoo my hair with it before i get it dyed

We have really hard water here and I rinse my hair with vinegar ever two weeks.

After you shampoo bend over the tub or the sink and pour it on. make sure to get from the roots to the ends. Rub it on good (make sure to keep it out of your eyes...it burns!). I usually give it about 5 minutes and then rinse it out. It does WONDERS and its very inexpensive.

Once it's all rinsed out apply at least a little bit of conditioner.

Also works for the coffee maker and anything else that gets scaly build up!!!

The Ion shampoo is great. I also use the Crystal Clarifying Treatment by Ion, Sally's should have it. It's in a little purple packet. I use it before i color my hair or when it starts to get dull. Strips all the nasties right out! Good luck!

That's the stuff! I have the clarifying treatment too, but haven't had to use it yet. The shampoo and conditioner have done the job so far.

I use Pantene Ice shampoo and conditioner. Don't rinse the conditioner out too much.

This stuff is so good I also use it to bathe chickens going to show. They have soft, slick feathers for a long time after.

I've been going no shampoo for a few months now. Washing with a tablespoon of baking soda. I simply make a paste in my hand and massage through my hair. I then follow it with a rinse of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 2 parts distilled water. I put a cinnamon stick and a tsp of vanilla in the rinse and let set for a day before using. I keep the rinse in an old shampoo bottle and do a batch every month or so. The cinnamon and vanilla keeps my hair from smelling like a douche.

I went no shampoo because of severe skin allergies. The prescription shampoo made my hair fall out and was awful. This is an awesome alternative. It keeps my hair soft and silky and doesn't irritate my skin. (And despite what it sounds like, I promise I'm not a dirty hippy!)
