Hi guys, I'm about to start building my first coop and I was planning on making something similar, although not as large or fancy as this coop here:

This coop has hardware cloth as flooring and I was just wondering if that was okay for the chickens. Any help is much appreciated.

I'm guessing it would be ok! Seems to work well for them. I'm just doing the deep litter method on a basic plywood floor with vinyl tiles for easy cleaning. I wonder how hard the wire mesh stuff is too clean?

Jarheads been around here lately, he may be able to say how well it is working for him.

Some of my Bantams live in hutches for safety reasons and the floor of the hutches is 1/2 inch hardware cloth. i do put hay or straw over the wire, but the straw eventually does fall through and i just replace it. I've never had issues of poop building up on the wire. The have wood roosts and have a pan of dirt to dust bathe in inside their hutch. Works well for me so far!
