This is my first post.

I've been reading on here for weeks so I don't feel like I'm new. I have learned so much from all of you, so thank you!

I probably shouldn't make my first post a negative one but I just have to say I HATE HARDWARE CLOTH!! Yep, I just came in from working on the run. I can't tell you how many bad words I said trying to get that "stuff" where it was supposed to be and I'm all scratched up and only 1/3 done. Why do they call it cloth? More like metal mesh from hell. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with this stuff? Are there any special tools that would help with bending/shaping it? The whole building of the coop has been a learning experience, a fun one until the hardware cloth part. We are not carpenters or builders but we just got an idea of what we wanted and went from there and for the most part it has turned out really well. I'm sure there are no right angles or level surfaces in the structure though. lol

If you want to bend it sandwich it between a couple boards with the edges of the boards being at the bend point and bend it against a flat surface in a quick motion, should give you a nice straight bend like using a sheet metal brake.

No tips on handling. But it is good stuff for keeping chickens safe. Keep that in your mind... a refrain while you work ??? "I'm doing it for them...." Also good for when your kids are telling you that they hate you, you're the meanest so and so.... etc.

Funny! My oldest is 12 so we aren't to the "I hate you you are so mean" fade yet but your post made me laugh anyway. Or probably BECAUSE we aren't there yet.
