Hardware Cloth

I am about to embark on a Tractor for my 3 week old bantams. Cost is a factor. I saw some plastic Hardware cloth and was wondering if anyone has used it and what they think about it? It is a lot less money than metal chicken wire also lighter in weight for a easy to move tractor.

It is probably lighter in weight, making the tractor lighter overall, but it likely will not be predator proof. I wouldn't chance it. Hardware wire is expensive, but if you value your investment in your coop and birds, it's a price worth paying.

I wouldn't use the plastic stuff either... it's definitely NOT predator proof.

Those cute chicks need to be protected by the real stuff.
