I am starting a new coup tomorrow. We have LOTS of smart coyotes in these woods, along with coons, possoms, hawks and wild dogs. Even have the occasional panther run thru. I have way too much time and love invested in my beautiful Seramas to chance a night time invasion.
Sooo..
Using 5' high welded wire panels around all sides of pen and covering them in 3' high hardware cloth. Also covering roost area in hardware cloth to prevent reach-thru at night. 3' wide hardware cloth is going to be attached to bottom of side panels and buried under 1 foot of dirt. Planting azaleas on top of that to provide side shade and roots will go thru hardware cloth and secure it to the ground better.
