Hi,
I am planning to build a run for my quail. I would like some honest opinions about this chew-proof plastic hardware netting. Has anyone actually used it to build a coop/run? I was thinking that this would be a great option to bury under the floor of the run. Benefit, of course, is that it won’t rust. But, does it actually work? Will it keep predators out? The description does say it can be used for coops.

"An effective barrier against rabbits and other garden pests" It say's it's chew proof also, I'm guessing against rabbits. I wouldn't use it on my coop or run.

The words "chew-proof" and "plastic" do not go together.

I love this part of their description.... "You can cut it with with scissors". So lets work this out logically.

1. Chicken wire is pretty much universally known to not be good for predator proofing.
2. Chicken wire generally cannot be cut with scissors.
3. This product can be cut with scissors.
4. Bad idea.

Anything you can cut with scissors is not going to keep even rabbits out.
I rebuilt a garden gate for someone who used this type stuff,
wild rabbits had chewed an entrance for themselves thru it.
I replaced it with 14ga 1x2 cage mesh.

I give it 1 year in Florida sun light before it dries out and crumbles.
In Canada, it will stiffen up and snap like a potato chip in one year.. in your winter season.

I think this is the stuff I used in my coop to separate a broody hen and her chicks. I have one of those dog play pen fences. The holes on the metal fence were too big so I attached some of the plastic "fence" to keep the chicks in. I would absolutely never use it as any kind of predator protection.
