Hardware store berry bushes

I have the opportunity to get some started blueberry and raspberry bushes for cheap. They are from Home Depot, and come in a tiny box of dirt. Would they survive in that until spring? Would it be better to put them in a big pot and transplant them?

I'd probably put them in a pot, especially if you can see any roots sticking out. You aren't likely to get berries til next year anyway.
