Hi I recently started breeding and keeping Japanese Quail.I have managed to grow and breed well over 100 chicks successfully and I am now looking at branching out to a second breed on a smaller scale.I would like to know is there any major differences in keeping breeding and raising Harliquin Quail compared to the Japanese Quail. Thanks for any and all input.

Other then breeding 1 on 1 for the harlequins they are pretty much the same to raise.A little harder to get to hatch also.Well worth getting into as they have come back from being almost extinct.

I will get back into them sometime.

Thanks for the info. I read conflicting reports on them the 1 to 1 breeding would be no problem.I might just dive and get a pair to se how it goes.Smashing looking birds.

If you want some good info contact Garrie Landry in Louisiana at www.zebrafich.com.I hear he and a handful of others help bring them back from near extinction.I know Scott O'Brien in Jefferson,Me was also on that list and when I bought mine from Scott back in 2009 he had a bunch of them.
