Harnesses and Diapers - when can you begin - how many weeks old...

I want to make sure I train my ducklings early on getting used to wearing diapers and harnesses. How soon can they start training? I know they have to be large enough.

Also I thought I read somewhere here about putting a sock on a duckling?
