I'm sitting in Houston wanting to give you all a heads up!!!

After Harvey hits this area again, it will begin to slowly move inland. Hopefully those that will be effective are already under a flood and flashflood watches and warnings. Please read those, and know when you are predicted to get hit.

If you live in TN and KY it will be the overnight hours of Tomorrow night into late in the day Friday.
With that said. Please please please please please please please keep this in mind.
1) First and foremost PLEASE have or wear bright colors when you go to bed, have a bright colored bed sheet, towel by a window that can be opened!

2) Look up your National Guard Emergency Numbers ahead of time. Along with your 7 digit number for local police.
3) Place next to your bedside a card, write in permanent marker your name address and a phone number, out of your area. Like Gradma's house.
For children their name address, your phone number and name and a phone number out of the area. Place a safety pin and place it as high on your self as you can get.

These things may sound silly, but in an emergency or an event that you may need to be rescued it will help if we can see you!, And reunite you with family in the event you get separated.

One more please. Ok this is more of me begging.

In an emergency children get very scared to begin with.
Please teach them we are helping. Help them understand before they may have to meet us face to face in all our gear.
This is me, yes I am feeding my dog a POPCICLES in bed. He didn't feel well.
But when you get me in all my gear we look like a hudge scary water logged monster.

So please from the bottom of my heart talk to your kids. One idea is to look at Bases Facebook pages. Look on line at photos of us with kids.
