I have been looking for Valbazen (sp?) wormer and can't find it anywhere. I need to treat for roundworms in my flock. I have used Safeguard the last times I have wormed them and I wanted to use a different wormer to avoid resistance. Has this been discontinued? I am looking for something that is less of a hassle to administer like a one dose and done if there is one, or maybe a one now and one in a week or so instead of hassling my girls 5 days in a row and stressing them out in this heat. Can anyone point me in the right direction to go with this? TIA!

I don't think it's been banned, but it seems to be hard to find at this time.

You can always search for the drug name Albendazole instead of the name brand Valbazen and see if you can find that.

I have not seen anyone mention resistance, but I suppose it's possible.

If you are treating Roundworms Only, you can give Safeguard 10% Liquid Goat Dewormer at a rate of 0.23ml per pound of weight orally once, then repeated in 10days.

If you want to medicate water for Roundworms Only.
Use Levamisole Wormout Laying Hen Solution. You can find it at Jedds, instructions on dosing and usage is on the website and bottle.

Safeguard Aquasol© formula can be used. You can also find this online or possibly in feed stores. Instructions for usage is on the packaging and the Safeguard Aquasol website.

OK. If you don't think that I should switch it up right now, I am going to use the liquid for goats and dose as you state here. I am not keen on going the water route as I want to ensure each of the girls gets enough individually. They generally don't mind me handling them, it's just hot here now and they don't care for being syringe medicated much. lol This way I don't have to do that to them several days in a row during a time they are already stressed by the weather.

I did do a search for Albendazole and only got results for Fenbendazole (Safeguard), so I was wondering. I think someone stated the manufacturer is having production issues right now making it hard to find, but I can't seem to find the response where I read that.

As always, thanks so much @Wyorp Rock!
