Has any one experienced with the profi I by Lyons please help

I bought a lyons profi I from cl. this is my first time using an incubator, I really don't know what went wrong the embryos seemed to developed all the way some piped but died due to a sticky yellowish candy like fluid they were stuck they seemed, others never piped they died inside the egg it looked like they drowned. maybe I couldn't maintain the proper levels of temp and humidity I used the wet dry bulb thermometers that I ordered from Lyons if any one knows how to work this thing please help I don't know what iam doing wrong

If you don't have the Operating instructions go to :Lyon Incubator & find the Profi. At the bottom they have printable instructions which explains everything. If I were you Id follow those instructions, However if there is something you don't understand let us know. Using a wet bulb, once you get use to it is really easy.
If yours was used you may want to change the wick on the wet bulb. They can get crusted up with minerals & become inaccurate. They recommend Distilled water rather than tap or well water. I recommend the use of Distilled, it keeps everything a lot cleaner

Thanks bill I have the instructions one thing I don't understand is, where do I place the dry bulb and the wet bulb it doesn't explain in the instructions I odered the thermometers with the wick brand new from them .

Which one of the Temperature/Hygrometer units do you have. Are they separate or is it the one that is combined into one unit?
A wet bulb should be placed in the air path. BTW, if you got them from Lyon they are very accurate.

If you set this incubator up EXACTLY the way Lyon suggest & use the temperature & humidity settings they tell you to use I am sure you will be AMAZED at how well the eggs hatch.
I have used a 50-51% humidity (84 degrees wet bulb) on all my eggs (30 years worth), have lived in 3 different locations, with 3 different types of climates (very wet to very dry) & the 50-51% works. The only difference was how much more or less water it used. At all 3 locations my hatch rate has been 98% plus
I do suggest you use Distilled water. It keeps the inside of the incubator & wick from building up calcium deposits. Calcium deposits on the wick overtime will give you bad readings, but you can make a new wick from a Shoe Lace (the woven flat kind) or the hem of a "T" shirt.

I odered the ones that come together in a screw two doctor like thermometers I placed the dry bulb on the top of the incubator and the wet bulb on the bottom where the water pan is iam using distilled water but I don't know if its a different temperature and humidity from top to bottom ill try to post some pics if I could

When using a wet bulb does wick have to be inside the water? That's where iam messing up

You figured it out, the wick sits in the water not the thermometer, just the wick. Water is pulled up the wick (wicking action) & cools the thermometer, the results are a wet bulb reading. A wet bulb reading of 84 Degrees is equal to 51% relative humidity. Hopefully the instructions have the Wet bulb reading humidity chart.

From what I read while I was looking at the operation instructions on the Lyon web site, you adjust the humidity levels up, by adjusting the float level to allow more water into the pan. Of course the opposite is true in lowering humidity. I don't know how fast the Profi reacts to (humidity wise) to water level changes but make an adjustment & then wait an hour before you try to make any other adjustment. If it to high it needs to evaporate excessive water before you get an accurate reading, so it will take longer

Let's not stop here. I've got an interest in seeing these eggs hatch. Aldo interested in hearing how the Profi works for you.

Sooooo, before you try hatching, run the incubator at least a few days without ay eggs. Get the temp set to 99.5 but set the humidity low, maybe 70 degrees wet bulb. Every time I've adjusted the humidity exactly before I set eggs, when I put eggs in it would rise higher than I wanted. I found it best to wait until the eggs were in & then made final adjustments.
Don't forget to candle at day 7
