has anyone appealed to city/county council?

i've written my county councilman to ask for a dispensation to allow me to keep a small coop...

i don't know if it'll work or not, but here's hoping.

has anyone taken this route?

well, i live outside of charleston, sc.

according to my zoning board, i'm not allowed to have chickens. but i'm not ready to take no for an answer.

i wrote my county council to plead my case.

i was just wondering if anyone else had taken this route.

If you read this forum you will find that many people have done so--whether to your council, IDK, you'll have to search. Find and read your ordinances--make sure you know exactly what your zoning is. Also check to see if any variances have been requested specifically for chickens or other poultry (or even waterfowl) and how those cases were decided.
