Has anyone bred Pekin and welsh harlequin ducks together??

Poor little thing.

The yolk is absorbed, but the belly huge, like it isn't being digested. It's three days old now, so that belly should be much smaller.

I'm thinking the same thing.. But I have no idea what causes that. I really think the belly bulge is the problem. . but what's causing the bulge I do not know.

Im really puzzled too. Shes eating good, and pooping. The Only vet within a couple towns each direction that would see my ducks, has said straight out....shes not a duck expert by any means. (I'm the only 1 to of ever brought ducks in). But.... she can do Xrays & things like that. Should I bring her in? Shes either open tomorrow for a little while, or not until Monday. It is breaking my heart watching her try So Hard, and get nowhere. I'm nervous now that the other 3 ducklings might reject her once shes well enough to integrate... which I'm staying positive and saying She Will!!!!

What size syringe did you get or have? I just peel the foil off and use the syringe to pull out the liquid B.

When she is ready to be with the others you’ll just introduce like she is a new member. Slow an easy they will accept her eventually.

Were tip-toeing around because Joy is STILL sleeping in her sock
She usually doesnt sleep this long so, trying to help it last as long as possible. Does the dosage depend on the syringe? Just so you know, she is smaller than the rest. My son wanted to name her Lil Dumpling. So we do half & half. to make him feel good.
I definitely want to give it to her right away but should we just let her continue her sock-sleeping?

Oh, besides the B complex dosage, is there also a particular amount & frequency for the Vitamin E?? Thanks so much for all your help!!

Dosing does not depend on the syringe, but I wanted tell you exactly where to draw to on the syringe.

That is totally up to you and what you feel comfortable spending on a vet .. That may not be able to help anyway.
I know you don't wanna hear this but if it were mine I would cull in a few days if there is no improvement with the treatment your giving her.

Ok, so the needles are 22G x 1in. The syringe is 3mL

Shes gonna be ok. Shes going to come thru this. Whichever way that may be.
