Has anyone bred Pekin and welsh harlequin ducks together??

Well, if we dont gain some weight after today...... then I dont know where its going.:gig:idunno. Now that Joy eats her crumbles dry & bites them out of the cup herself, shes loving it. And she started sipping the water correctly almost 90% of the time, (still "sifts" thru like normal the other 10%) so shes not getting so congested anymore every time she eats. Drinking more also.
Things are looking up!!:clap:ya:jumpy

Can you tell she is growing? it could be any weight she's putting on is going into growing? Just a guess though. But eating her crumbles and drinking normally are great signs. Hopefully once you get her shoes on and place her in her walker she'll start using her feet normal.

Erin, that is so awesome! When was the last time you slept?
Here & there.:caf:idunno Its ok!! Sleep is over-rated!!:lau. Totally just kidding. I love climbing in bed at night & sinking into the softness, closing my eyes, feeling myself drift away, & little by little Im....... CHIRP, CHIRP, CHIRPITY-CHIRP!!!!!!! Oh, up we go!!:lau
Shes actually letting me put her down some now, relaxing a bit more. She pooped a ton last night, and ate a ton more. Doing good. Today we'll put on her shoes, maybe something for a little bit of straddle to hold her legs together. Starting to go outward a little bit. Also coming up with a floating device that will hold her body straight, but most importantly, hold her head so her face & beak wont stay submerged so much. (Makes it so much better that Brandon, my husband, lives her just as much & is just as attatched as I am. I need his handy-work:p:D.) I always wonder why she doesnt use her wings very much, for balance & moving around. Only rarely will she pull them out.
Ok, so....I'm going to take a picture & see what yall think. It's basically in the area of her crop, when she relaxes her neck & head, it mostly goes to one side..... so theres a "fatty-like"(?) bulge there. Hard to explain. In the pic, it isnt like that all the time, just when she isnt holding her head straight up. And I'm going to take a video today when she eats next, hangs out with her buddy, Callie, & walking with her shoes. This way, you can get a better idea of her motion, strengths & weaknesses, etc... IF you're interested.
Hope everyone is having a Great morning so far, & that you'll have an even better rest of your day!!:celebrate:frow
:bun:thumbsup:yesss::highfive::ya:wee

Well, @Miss Lydia & @DuckyDonna ...... I'm 99% positive it's not a full crop because it's something that's been there, just as it is now, since birth. She droops her neck sometimes & its 85% of the time towards 1 direction, which in turn, shows this bulge. Shes always had it, always been there. But getting curious now. Might just be "Her", and because of how she leans or hangs her neck, makes this spot more prominent. Its soft to the touch like it's her mass or body fat, so I dont think it's anything alarming.....but, with her, I'm trying to cover alllllllll the bases.:D:D
