Has anyone crossed RIR and Jersey Giant

I hatched out some chicks from a RIR rooster, Jersey Giant pullets and RIR pullets. What color should the offspring be mixing a RIR rooster and Jersey Giant pullets? I was not expecting the chicks to be solid black when they hatched.

The Rhode Island Red cross with a Jersey Giant should be all black I would think..

cool i am going to try a LB JG cross only because they will be coopmates and will seperate if i want a pure run will you pm me a pic at 4 to 6 weeks when they feather if you can remember and if you are keeping thanks

OH ! Can't wait to see what they grow up to look like. I have both breeds also and was wondering about this; also the Light Brahma/Giant cross too. Beautiful babies !! Thanks for sharing.

Some are red and some are black. I have RIR and black jersey giant mixed. They are very pretty and good birds

I see that this post is from a while ago, but I'm wondering if anyone has pictures of adult roosters from this cross(not this one specifically but Rhodie rooxjersey hen) I've hatched a clutch of eggs from various breed mixes and I think one of my roos might be half jersey. I've been looking for pictures though, because he could also be from two other hens. Thanks for any help!
