Has anyone dealt with “chickens for backyards and hatchery”?

Has anyone else had interactions with these people? On Monday I ordered two ducks and two silkies they them. I was told if receive a tracking number today. Now I got a message that I needed to pay an extra $100 for shipping, no word of that on Monday. When I asked why there was no mention of that on Monday they tried to make me feel like I was an idiot and did I expect free shipping. I said, “No I expect you would tell people shipping upfront.” Note they’re refusing to send unless I pay extra. They’re also refusing to refund me.”

Huge red flag, IMO. I would cancel order if it were me.

Agreed, everywhere else tells you shipping costs upfront. No reason they couldn't do that too. If you want a better hatchery, I personally really like Meyer, but cackle, McMurray, ideal poultry, meltzer and mt healthy are really good too

I would add Valley hatchery to the list. They've always been helpful, responsive and pleasant customer service. They also love to talk chickens......

Thanks everyone! Yeah at that point I asked for a refund but his response was 1) to act like I was an idiot and did I expect that shipping was free and, 2) refuse to refund me. Unfortunately I paid thru Apple Pay and can’t get a refund. Lesson learned for me, but it still sucks. So I’m trying to warn everyone.

This is what I was dealing with. I’m sure the address he gave me was fake too. When I looked it up on Google maps, it was just someone’s house.

Contact apple and see if they can't help you out. I imagine they have some sort of buyer protection policy for situations like this
