I came across a craigslist post for chicks that Im looking for. I wanting the Easter eggers that they have. Here is most of their ad.

No, they would never give me their address to pick up. The guy I was emailing keep telling to call their 1800 number and I did and never got a call back.

The turkeys we picked up were a little dehydrated and hungry, but seem to be bouncing back. However, they are the most skittish birds I have ever seen. I didn't have any problem getting a call back from them, but I did figure out they were screening calls. I think their philosophy on raising poultry greatly differs from mine, so I doubt I would ever buy from them again-unless it was to go back and "rescue" the other turkeys they have left.

I was looking at much younger birds. And I'm from a diffent state so maybe that why I never got a call back

I am going to get some gray leghorns from there tomorrow. I can't find anything truly negative about the company other than a lawsuit regarding delinquent accounts on a grain contract from '08. This is what they sent me today:

Can you give me say an hour window on when you want to come get them? They are out at our farms and we don't allow outsiders out there plus it's kinda difficult to get to anyway, so I will be bringing them into our old fertilizer building in town on Cleveland Street behind the mill, which I'm cleaning out.
My thought is that I'm giving the birds a good home. Time will tell...

I would be suspicious of a place that doesn't know breed names. It is Barred Plymouth Rock, not "Plymouth Barred Rock." California Gray is a breed (not recognized by APA) that was developed using White Leghorns and Barred Plymouth Rocks. But it is not called California Gray Leghorn. It is just California Gray.

It is not "Americaunas." It is Ameraucanas.

Government regulations often prevent people from visiting farms. This cuts down on the spread of disease.

I am not sure you should be posting an email that was sent to you.

Seriously? You'd be so picky you'd not buy from someone for those first things? I get the whole ameraucana thing, that's an ongoing issue and will be forever. But those first two?

Did you read what I wrote? It seems you didn't.

I wrote, "I would be suspicious of a place that doesn't know breed names."

That means I, and any thoughtful person, would do a little research before buying from the place. A hatchery that doesn't know breed names is suspicious.
