Has anyone ever had spur removal done with chicks?

I read a vet can somehow cauterize some cells to stop the spurs from growing
and was wondering if anyone had done this and how old a chick can be to do this.

We have a coop and safe run. And I have an 11 year old daughter. I am not going to keep a roo that might spur her.
And I don't have the stomach to perform chicken surgery.

But he's crowing louder every day, so he might be leaving anyway. Just seeing what my options were because he is
cute little thing.

You'll have to call your vet and ask. When they remove toes on dogs, it has to be the first day or two of life. It might be too late to have the spurs cauterized.
