Has anyone ever ordered guineas from idealpoultry?

So I probably woould be able to tame any down? What if I just handled 1 keet alot? Fed him out of my hand etc.
Could I train the guineas to go back to the coop at night?

You can tame guineas, absolutely, but they take a bit more effort. I had four tame ones. And guineas are native to Africa, hot and dry land. They mother their keets like they are in Africa, but here, they will take keets through wet grass and get them chilled, so it's not that they are bad mothers, they are mothers for another land.

It takes handling them several times a day from the time you get them. We had them so tame and I do miss them, but I had to choose between my chickens and guineas at the time. They are strange critters, but if you think of them as wild African birds and not just weird-looking chickens from the start, you'll do better. You have to adjust your management of them to their character.

When ever I raise chicks in the house, they always follow me around and cheep their heads off if I not holding them! lol
I kinda miss not having any chicks in the house right now ...

But hopefully pretty soon my broody cochin will hatch me some babies out!!!

Guinea hens are very much like raising turkeys, just on a MUCH smaller scale.

I ordered several FRENCH Guineas from ideal last year. VERY pleased with the people, the shipping and of course the birds.

I have all but one still running the property. They are quite a bit larger than regular Guineas, BUT they ONLY come in ONE color, Pearl.

I really like the French guineas, but I would like a assortment of colors, not just 1 color. Will they ship french guineas and the other guineas in the same box?

I was just on their sight yesterday and they're shipping guinea keets right now!
I'm thinking about maybe March 24th for the delivery date. But I'm not if I'm going to order them yet.

Theirs must have just begun laying. Guineas are seasonal layers and French guineas have a longer season than the regular ones. I couldn't get Ideal keets here until June (feed store), but I can get the French ones in Feb.
