Has anyone ever raised just one duck?

Ive raised my duck by herself and she is very happy and loves me.
She is 20 weeks of age today and Im a very excited that she should start laying eggs tonight.

I'm currently raising one duckling alone due to an injury. I don't recommend it. I find it makes me sick when I need to leave for the entire day (which is most days) and I can hear it peeping it's tiny little head off for me to come back. I am finding it even more heartbreaking when it's given up that its peeps will bring anyone. I don't find anything cute about an animal wanting company that it cannot get. It cuddles up to a pooh bear when alone (and no, I don't find that cute either, I find it sad).

I spend every minute I am at home with the duckling.

Please don't raise a flock animal alone.

i raised a little mallard duckling once but she ran away and never has cam back
