has anyone ever seen a long skinny coop? does anyone have a long skinny coop? if so may you please post some pictures. or any ideas or suggestions on a long skinny coop? would be greatly appreciated

Remember when Lowes had demo sheds that were full width but like half the depth? Well I bought one that was 10 ft. wide by 4 ft. long and used it for a coop.
Just paid the Lowes to deliver it with some other lumber and they even set it in my back yard! My hubby cut a window in one end and added a few vents. He also put roosts staggered heights at each end and a 10 ft. one up high for width. It worked out really well and looked neat from the front but kind of weird from the side.

I finally bought full sized barns and had my son tear this one down and burn it.
If you ask at Lowes they sometimes will clearance out the sheds especially in the winter.

ok that sounds cool. i have a garage in my backyard thats 20' by 18' and im thinking about making a new coop thats like 4' by 18' inside of the garage. so the side wall is 4 feet out from the back of the garage going all the way across to both sides. does that make any sense?

I have a 13'x3.5' chicken alley alongside my larger coop, it houses 6 bantams now, but I am adding a few more in the spring. I put their coop (a insulated dog house) on stilts so that they could utilize all the space.

It is the pen to the right in this picture...

thats cool its sounds like it might work. im not sure if want to make a huge wall or just put a few boards down and chicken wire from the boards to the ceiling instead of having just a wall. because if i put the wall there will be no natural light. but the chicken wire will have light shining from the garage doors. like maybe make the wall 3 or 4 feet tall and chicken wire from there. how does that sound?
