I was thinking of pounding 18"-24" lengths of rebar into the ground about 6" or so apart to keep predators from digging into the chicken yard, has anyone tried this?

Thanks,

Should work and last a long time. Plus it is fairly cheap compared to other steel.

That's a good idea....and easy to add to any existing coop!

If you use it, it needs to be placed closer than that. A small digger can fit though a hole of less than an inch.

I was thinking more along the lines of keeping Racoons, Possoms, and Skunks out, the way I have the entire run built will allow just about any creature 2" and smaller into the penned area.
