I have 3 "Bielefelder" pullets front different hatcheries. As they reach 22 wks, 1 is so much bigger than the other 2. And I noticed a while ago the 2 smaller ones had pea combs and the hint of a beard, but didn't really think about it. Then yesterday someone in my flock laid a blue egg, but I don't have a blue layer (other than a chick)! It finally dawned on me! I think the two smaller ones are Ameraucana or EEs or something. They look really very similar, but their coloring is also less differentiated/barred. Also, they make more little screechy noises, whereas the giant Bielefelder is basically silent.Has anyone experienced chicks being sold as pure rare breeds that are fakes? Bielefelder
