Has anyone had a scope done on their knee for

Chickie'sMoma :

i've been present in surgeries when they've done them on horses-arthroscopic surgery. it was interesting to see it done and how few incisions they use to get in there.

i have a friend who has had them done every few years and the last time she had to have it done i believe they used a laser to help remove some of the cartilage and scar tissue.

That would be cool to see but I would need a mattress to fall on once I pass out ....hee hee heee!

I had it done 7 months ago. My experience has been really bad. I am 40 and have had problems with mine for years so my case probably isn't a good comparison. I had a torn meniscus, several bone spurs, level 3 arthritis, and chondromalasia, which means my knee cap is out of alignment and so they filed the back of my knee cap off to try to get it back on track. I have had several injections since my surgery that didn't help. It still pops and cracks and is extremely painful, actually worse now than before my surgery. My Family Doctor put me on Meloxicam (sp?) for my arthritis which helped big time but I had a horrible side effect from it. It made me so tired and weak that I just couldn't function and I also had heart palpitations. Thank god she recognized what was wrong and took me off of it after about 3 weeks. I have now been taking osteobi-flex for about a month and it does seem to be helping a little. Other than that I have no choice but to take pain medication so I can continue working. I was told to sign up for disability, but I'm not ready to give up yet. I hope you have a speedy recovery free from all the problems that I have experienced.
