Has anyone stacked extra eggs in a egg turner?

So I went a little crazy buying eggs. I have 2 Hova Bator 1588 with auto turners, but have 6 extra eggs when fully loaded. I decided to place the extras on top/in between of some of the eggs in the turner. They seem to kind of be turning along with the ones they are piggy backing. I am wondering if anyone else has done this, and if it is safe for the eggs. Should I also be hand turning the extras to ensure they get enough turning back and forth? I thought at the very least when I candle them if they are growing then leave them in untill the turner comes out on lock down. At that point there whould be plenty of room. If they dont candle well then take them out but I dont want to harm the eggs that are shouldering them in the meantime. Any ideas or experience with this?

I have a brinsea with a turning cradle and I've crammed extra eggs in by putting them in point down instead of on their side. I usually rotate the eggs so that everyone gets a day on its side once in a while. Maybe you could rotate which eggs are on top and which are on the bottom? Like you I figure I'll have room when it comes time to lock down since the odds of all of them making it are slim. There always seems to be one quitter in the bunch.

good luck

If your hovabator turner is like mine, the racks come out. You should be able to remove 1 row from which-ever side gives you more room (There's one side that has a bigger space... I think it's the row by the motor) and use the space to cram in the extra eggs. You'll have to turn them by hand, but if you're reaching in to rotate egg placement or just to turn the 6 anyway, this would probably be safer/give better chances.

If you have questions about stuffing an incubator you need to talk to

From what I have heard she can stack more eggs than anyone.

Good Luck with your hatching.

I’m going to try putting in 10 extra eggs. That about what I usually lose off the bat. I just put them in between eggs in the turner as there is plenty of room. I figure Momma hen has them stacked when she’s brooding, so I don’t see why it would hurt 🤷🏻‍♀️

depending on style of turner just be sure theyre actually getting turned, ive lost a few overloading like that, assuming they were turning but they were dragging etc ..
