a blinking red light will never be a substitution for a secure fence.
I have one night guard installed outside my coop with the hope it may ward off preditors from approaching the coop at night. I can't tell if a preditor came in the yard and thought "oh no, a blinking red light! That looks like another predator, I'd better stay away". I've asked them to sign a log book when they come in the yard to say they've visited, but so far I've had no cooperation.
Seriously, I doubt they work but for $20 I thought I'd give it a try....can't hurt. I wouldn't rely on them though and still have my coop secured every which way and try to stay within earshot when they out free ranging.
