Has anyone tried painting the hardware cloth run area?

I was thinking of painting our new 20ft hardware cloth covered run with black outdoor spray paint so it doesn't looks so "shiny".
Any opinions on this?

I think you will waste most of the spray, maybe roll it on making sure the roller is just damp with paint (no drips that way). Eventually the shiny zinc covering will fade and look more dull. I like the shinyness of my hardware cloth personally, it doesn't bother me or my birds; the more visible it is the better-even with the shinyness my cat ran head first into it the first day it was up. He isn't very coordinated though.

Sure, you can but it won't last real long. If you try it, as the preivous poster says DO NOT use spraypaint, use a roller. it will start peeling off within the year.
