Very funny!

www.qcsupply.com has the watering nipples for $1 - $2 depending on the type, but I haven't run across the cups, other than the chick cups, which I think are about $3.00 at QC Supply.

Murray Mcmurray Hatchery has this great looking watering cup. a cross between the traditional watering system and the nipple waterers. Is it worth the price though?

You got me curious! I found the cups at http://www.twincitypoultrysupplies....in_page=product_info&cPath=30&products_id=399
I might have to try a couple myself and see how they work in comparison to just the nipples. Living in Tennessee the weather tends to get quite hot and humid and I'm always open to trying new ways to keep my lovies hydrated.

Hello- tell me about the cool feeder, looks like pvc is it gravity fed? how'd you make it?

It's a section of 4inch PVC pipe that you can't see vertical just to the right inside the door. With a screw clean out cap on top. At the bottom is a 4 inch to a 3 inch elbow. I then cut the top off of the 3 inch pipe and screwed on a cap at the end to make the bottom of the feeder.

I wasnt wanting to buy the system!!! it is way to expensive for chickens to drink. I mean i have spent less than 100$ on the coop using free patchwork materials, so i am certainly not spending 60$ on the product

Thankyou for the links to the cups. I am going to to purchase 1 and have that in the coop and the drip nipples under the coop.

The first year I had chickens here in PNW - my water broke because of the freezing water
I spent ever day chipping ice out and replacing water. it was a PITA.
I build a water heater for under 10 dallors
I use a 1 gallon water in the coop and change the water every few days to keep it fresh.
I have never looked back or even come close to freezing even at 15 degrees....

As I have already posted twice this waterer is available on line for $2,25 each. The reservoir and plumbing pipe would probably be under $10.00.
