This will work until one of the hens swallows a piece of latex down her throat and chokes to death.The problem is mixing feathered legged chickens with those that aren't. They see the feathers and peck their feet.Edit:If they're the same breed they're just bullies.Hi
Can I ask how you got on with your hen wearing the shoes, if you had to use them?
I've a Brahma cockerel who's feet are pecked by this girls. They pull at his feet feathers and end up making him bleed. Which in turn increases their pecking.
As a deterint I've been using disposable surgical gloves. The fingers are cut away to allow air to circulate, they don't take long to rip on the bottoms either. As long as they still cover the tops of his feet the hens don't bother him. If looks could kill! This was his face after getting them changed once again.
