I have no clue... the herbs might help, but I know that chickens have no receptors for spice so that won't bother them at all. Also, I have read that applying bitter substances doesn't help at all either, so I bet this isn't so effective... but it's only a guess.

i've used rooster booster "pick-no-more lotion" with pretty good results - gotta apply it often, though. others have suggested pine tar (available at the feed store) - and this seems like a very messy option, so i haven't ever tried it. but if you've got gloves and help w/applying i'd give the pine tar a try!

blu-kote is another product you can get at the feed store to stop picking.
