Started out small with 8 eggs to see if we could be successful. We've got 4 hatched and one more is pipping. 2 aren't due for another day, we added them later because the rooster died.

Awww. So cute! It's funny how they pop out of the eggs and look so distinctive, but as they grow they totally transform into almost a new looking bird.

I hatched 6 cuckoo marans yesterday, too !

My eggs came from bantaman13.....

I was also wondering if they can be sexed this young. Some of mine have distinct dots on their heads, some just have muddled white on their heads....

Roos are lighter in color than the pullets. More gray looking than black.
