HATCH DAY!! or at least it's suppose to be!

Our first hatch was last time and I remember they started peeping before the hatch, but can't remember how long before b/c there is no peeping yet.... Wondering if that's ok? How long before hatching should I be hearing peeping?

We got 14 out of 21 our first time - so dh (ok and me!) got excited and we filled the little giant up this time! We have 12 blue eggs - Americanas; 10 buff orpingtons; 2 blue orpington; and 11 that our daughter was given - mixed bantys and we don't knows. The gentleman that gave them to her has pure breeds that free range. The first 2 doz were set Mother's Day night and the last 11 were set a day and a half later - Tues just after lunch. We went to lockdown Fri 11:30 pm. Meant to do it earlier in the day (hope we didn't do something wrong being that late on day 18 for first ones or too early for last ones) - but BUSY, non-stop day. Dh and I had toast and scrambled egg supper Fri right after that if that gives you an idea about the day! LOL - Good day, just too much to do!

I have told all his family, and a number of friends that this is hatch day and hoping FIRST we have some hatch and secondly that some can get this way. Two of the triplets and sil can come for dinner; son and dil working this evening so we will have some visitors for sure! Now, wonder if chicks going to cooperate?! I want to hear peeping so I know we will have some hatch!!

That's exciting mtnfamily ! I'm sure they will hatch. Well... I woke up at 4 am and FINALLY stepped in to help my lone call duck. Seemed that the membrane was a little shrink wrapped even though humidity stayed at 75+. Any who here he is, he pushed his back half out by himself, he is ticketed out though!

No peeping. No pipping. Day 21 morning. Should I be worried or is this normal? Only our second hatch.

2 eggs are rocking!!!! No peeping, no pipping, but rocking!!!!!! Maybe we WILL have babies today!!!???

Hatch Day makes me feel like a kid again!!

I candled my eggs tonight and was very disappointed to find out only 2 of my 34 shipped eggs actually had a (hopefully) live chick inside (Very bummed right now) not to mention one of the two is from MY chickens so... I'm really hopping both of those will hatch otherwise I'm going to be really really sad. I wish the other chick was in one I actually bought but you've gotta be happy with what you get. I'm hopping and praying right now that I get at least two....
