Hatch date May 17! anybody else?

i had one chick hatch early monday. it was dry and fluffy and there were no pips so i took it out. now i have 6 chicks in the bator and will probably do a snatch and grab sh she isn't lonely any more. she has become very attached to momma. paintedhorsegirl don't give up yet. more could still happen. especially if there were some cooler spots in the bator. we are all pullin for you

Thanx and congrats..I keep worrying because the eggs were shipped to me in Maine from missouri, I wonder if the shipping effected them..My daughter has her riding lesson today after school so I will be gone for most of the afternoon and early evening..My hope is that when I get back home tonight I will have some friends for my lone chick

Day 21 for my broody. Nothing this morning. It is pouring with rain and the poor thing is in the converted rabbit hutch in the run. I did put a tarp on it last night so she is cozy and dry but no babies that I can see (or hear)

I usually take her off the nest each day but didn't yesterday - should I lift her off this morning? - we must be close to something hatching though - she does have room in the hutch to get up and walk around but obviously chooses not to.

i'm sure the shipping had something to do with it. most don't get great hatches with shipped eggs. i usually order lots knowing most won't hatch. i have another hatch going and last night i candled 60 eggs and 36 either didn't develop or started and quit. so now i only have 24 left in the bator. some of those are questionable too. i'll be happy if any hatch.

Do you think I should take some out and candle them or just wait it out...Day 21 ends this afternoon, so i could give thema nother day or two but I feel so bad the little lone chick is peeping so loud and I worry shes lonely .

if there are no pips you could candle. i probably would. you could also do the float test to see if they are still viable. i am on day 22 today and i still have 2 that are just pipping. you could also try giving the lone baby a stuffed toy or something to snuggle with.
