hatch on different days

I had 10 chicks hatch this weekend. All the eggs were placed under the hen at the same time and should have hatched Saturday. But Friday afternoon I had two chicks, added 6 more Saturday, and 2 more Sunday. I just thought it was strange for them to hatch over a three day period.

Odd maybe but it gives me hope that the two eggs my broody is sitting on will still hatch. One of the four placed under her the same day as they were laid, hatched Saturday morning. We tried candling them but couldn't tell anything. How long should we wait? She kicked one egg out of the nest a day or so after it was placed under her. When another chicken got into her area and laid an egg, she kicked it out too. Will she give up on her own?
