should Ido the same temp.on 99/ humdity on 51-55
and the silkies have piped but nothing so far.
only 2 out of 14,, anyone?? suggestions..

Sounds like humidity problems.... what I normally do is take a clean wet sponge and put it in there and they come out fine. If you see you have some stuck wet the membrane with warm water, and slowly and gently help them out. IF YOU SEE BLOOD, wrap it up with a warm wet paper towel with it's beak out so it can breath.

I'm also in TN we find 71-73% humidity works real good here for hatching. We run right at 50% for the first 18 days.We very seldom have non hatchers but my last hatch I was sick and day 19 we ran lower and we lost 2 chicks we shouldn't have.

HB..I always have humidity at 55*
so Idont know what happened today Still hopeing more will
hatch out. so sorry you lost your babies.
thats hard to take after waiting and watching.
its been 65 and cloudy all day here. at least the rain has stopped .

[When you hatch chickens the main thing to watch is the air sac in the eggs. The smaller it is the higher it is in your incubator. You need to be at about one third of the egg at hatching time. This is the biggest problem everyone has with incubators. You should be candling your eggs at least at day 4 or 5 for fertility day 10 day 14 and day 18 for air sac size.
