Hatch rate on shipped eggs and leaving feedback for seller

Where are you Hayley3? i mean where do you live if you don't mind sharing. I have 8 white silkie babies right now. I bought my 2 white silkie hens and white roo at a stock sale. I just got my first hatch off the older of the hens, she was on 12 eggs, 10 of her own and 2 game eggs of my sister in laws. 2 of the silkie babies didn't make it. If you have a flee market or stock sale near you, you may be able to pick you up a few more white silkies for a reasonable price. Looks like babies are pretty abundant right now. we will be selling all but 2 of our new white babies at the stock sale. if we still have them. we have already had offers on 4. Just waiting to see if i can get an idea of who is a roo and a hen. I know that can be tough on silkies. I will keep them till they are 3 or 4 weeks old. Then if nothing else sale them as strait run.

Good Luck, Jennifer

I think as a buyer and a seller that with shipped eggs you have a HUGE risk involved. I try to send extras to offset the postal gorillas and in return I try to offer the eggs at a reasonable price. Inturn I expect the same of the people I am buying from. I follow posts that involve me and when I detect the slightest unhappieness if it is within my capabilities I try to rectify the situation. I have NEVER bought eggs form eggbid or ebay. If I see something I try to contact the seller direct or I look up reputable breeders from breed websites and try to find other reputable people to buy from. I think my best ever shipped in and incubated shipment was 40%. I have some lovely birds and will not ever bad mouth the few chicks I have recieved from these shipments. A few great ones are worth their weight in gold rather than a bunch of so so chickens on the farm. JMHO

Haley,

I have ordered twice from Naptontail (JJ) and the first order I had great hatch rate and the 2nd I didn't but it wasn't her fault. It was the post office. I don't blame her at all and would never give her a bad feedback. She does a wonderful job at shipping.

I have looked at ebay and eggbid and they almost always have a disclaimer before you order.

It's just a chance you take when you order eggs through the mail.

I'm like you I am so excited over the 3 I had to hatch through that last batch from JJ. I even think I might have gotten that male phoenix!!!!
