hatch times when do I give up

my humidity was 84. but my temp was too high. I have forced air and it was at 101.5. I have done 5 hatches. read alot last night and discovered that I was using the still air temp. had a heart attack because the new batch was at 102 for 5 hours. I stayed up last night. set the alarm to go off every hour so I could get the temp down. it is at 100 now. hope they are ok.

Humidity of 84 seems high to me, was that just for the last 3 days? What was it prior to that?

I'm not an expert, I just read all about anything I'm working on. I've hatched a few batches and have one finishing up now. Shipped eggs, due to hatch today, so far I have 1 chick, maybe there will be more tomorrow.

There's a very long and informative thread about humidity. It have "Everybody read" or Everyone read" in the thread title, as well as the word "humidity".

It's a huge thread, but worth the read.

I keep the humidity at 40 for the incubation period. I rasie it to 80 for the last 3 days. I had one hatch at 100 per cent. I thought it was high also but did not know how to lower without opening the bator. in that batch I hatched 18 0ut of 20. I think I have read the long thread. it is why the humidity is low on mine for the first 18 days. it is worth the read. I just feel awful that if I do not do something right someone dies so am trying to troubleshoot to fix errors. I really do appreciate all imput and advice.

I had one hatch Friday night. I'm sure it was because my temps were low. I tried the auto-turner for the first time and followed the instructions that came with it. I think their instructions must be for incubators with the fan unit. I'll have to adjust the temp next time.

what kind of chick was it? congrats. I hatched 28 chicks yesterday. I lowered my temp a bit and it seemed to help a whole lot. I have a couple that did not hatch and I left them in but I am pretty sure they are no good.

I say give it more time. I read someone suggest not giving up until day 30 which seemed really long to me. But for sure wait until day 23 or 24.

I had a hatch on sun. day 21. this morning I needed to clean the hatcher as I had 21 eggs that needed to go in tonight. put the remaining 8 eggs in an incubator for the day. set up hatcher. tonight is day 23. candled the eight to decide what to do. 1 is alive! put all 8 in the hatcher along with newbies who are on day 18. have fingers crossed.
