Your eggs are TOO cheap. But even if I could buy a diamond for $1 I wouldn't
use it as a piece of chicken grit.

Let me rephrase:
If you want to hatch SpeckledHens chicks as your first hatch you will immediately
become addicted to hatching and lose your house, car, marriage and friends.
Don't say I didn't warn ya.

5:00 Sunday - They keep coming (I had to open the bator - one was stuck on his back
with membrane attached to half a shell - The chick is ok and warm again)

Those roos are breaking my heart. Their dad was my favorite until the "roo" came
out in him. I promised him I'd let him reproduce before we made soup. He's the
proud father of 17 chicks so far, and a good pot of soup.

They are SOOO friendly. 2 Full leghorns, 2 mutt leghorns, & 2 of Jody's Buffs.

OK final EXACT tally for first batch:

Forget about previous numbers - I had too many eggs to be accurate.
We did a final count and opened up the unhatched eggs.

25 of OUR eggs went into bator between 10/20 & 10/22

15 peeping little chicks

4 didn't make it (dead in shell)

6 were not fertile

Does this mean our hatch rate is 80%
