BACKSTORY:
About a week ago Angelfire's ENTIRE flock of Japanese, Silkies, and Marans were killed by a loose canine of some sort. It apparently dug under the run and got them that way. Pheatherz, hearing this news on the forums, sent over two dozen eggs to Angelfire to help rebuild her flock. Last night, they arrived and I got to see some pretty blue/green eggs among others. I believe they sent:
Standard SL Cochins
Lakenvelders
Easter Eggers/ Ameraucanas
One Marans/BO mix
Angelfire had asked everyone in our 4H group if they had good hatch rates with incubators because she had almost always used broodies, and almost all said they used broodies too. I had incubated 40 button quail and some Ameraucanas at the same and got a 100% hatch with them, and I said I would incubate them for her. Hopefully my third hatch will be as good as my second.
So here is this tribute thread!
Thank you Pheatherz! That was very kind of you to send those to her!
And I am crossing my fingers for Angelfire and my incubator, I hope she ends up with lots of fuzzy butts!
