I have a broody hen on 9 fertile eggs
due to hatch August 5 what I want
to know can the mother eat chick crumb for a few weeks when they hatch

She certainly can, Phil. She will not resume laying for a few weeks and the additional protein (compared to layer feed) in starter feed is just what she needs after eating so little whilst sitting.
