First time hatching, and hatching under momma. Eggs are different time frames also. First one attempted to hatch last night. Didn't hatch out completely. Cold, dead momma pushed it aside. What happened?

At this point in the game I would not move her, but would make it so that flock mates could not access the nest. Understand that within 36 hours of the first hatching she may leave the nest with her chicks - have a Plan 'B' for remaining eggs. This is why I hate staggered hatches. If the ramp is tall, it may be necessary to provide a separate brooding area until the chicks are somewhat larger. Good luck.
