I think one of my chicks hatched a little early...here belly area is a little bulgy. everything's inside her. from what I've read she will absorb it but I just wanted to double check. I had her in the incubator but she was disturbing the eggs so I had to move her. she is now sleeping in a bin with the heat lamp and she s on a towel so shavings wont stick to her.

Try not to worry as everything looks ok with her :) Her abdomen will look slightly bulgy as that is where she has absorbed her yolk sack. Her navel area also looks clean and should close up fully soon.

She would have been ok to stay in the incubator as she would encourage the others to start hatching as they cheep at each other. I know them knocking other eggs about can look quite dramatic but they encourage each other.

Good luck with the rest of your hatch :fl

there are other eggs pipping in there so there cheeps encourage plenty:rolleyes: plus the chick can be heard through the incubator and they cheep back and forth

great news the baby had dried and become overly fluffy. she i think has splayed leg as she can't walk on her legs... I'm gonna give her more time though before I do anything drastic
