7 years Chicken-less, my coop is almost complete! Can you please recommend hatcheries in Arizona or places to get my flock? It will be small...maybe like 4 hens and a rooseter, but if I know me it will end up many more that. I want a Rhode Island Red, Easter-Egger, Silkie, and Maran. Will have 1 rooster as well, husband wants a Jersey Giant (go big or go home).

Believe it or not, I don't think there are any hatcheries in Arizona. At least not on the internet. Here's a list of some other nearby hatcheries you may consider:

Belt Hatchery in Fresno, CA http://www.belthatchery.com/

Privett
Hatchery in Portales, NM http://www.privetthatchery.com/home/default.aspx (I wouldn't order from them. I've heard they have HORRIBLE customer service. There was a BYC thread about them not too long ago)

Ideal Poultry in Cameron, TX http://www.ideal-poultry.com/ (they often drop-ship from Privett, so it would be a short trip to Arizona)

Hope this helps!

Several people in AZ have Chickens to sell. You should go to the AZ thread and introduce yourself. You can find it with the index...where are you/where am I...then AZ.
Hope to see you there!!

Not sure where in AZ you are located, but there is What Came First hatchery in Chino Valley. I see lots of ads for them on Craigslist, and I 'think' the owner may be a member here, though I can't for the life of me remember who it might be.

Also, check out the "Arizona Chickens" thread. There are tons of people there who are frequent hatchers.

Welcome to BYC!
