I think I've read someone on here - had really good luck with Cackel Hatchery and their silkies - esp. the "blue" variety. Maybe you could do a search? I know someone will come along and have good advice regarding breeders that raise them as well. Good Luck!
i got real nice quality birds from cackle through my feed store a buff bantam cochin hen barred bantam cochin roo and a black silkie roo all great quality
I personally would never buy a silkie from a hatchery. No offense! I have never seen good quality silkies come from hatcheries. If you are looking for good quality silkies, spare yourself the time and money and buy from a breeder! Good luck!!!

Nice, but not up to my standards. The Black has some gold in its hackle & wing feathers. A DQ at shows. They don't have the best type either. And I prefer bigger crests. JMO.
its not gold its the sun, and they are good for hatchery bird. the key words are "hatchery bird" i do want to get quality silkies but the breeders are just too expensive to ship. its like $50 and i would spend the money on the birds but it cant be that much to ship birds cause my buddy had his 4 adult sebrights shipped for $30 from texas
