where can i get the best quaility chicks??? i want better prices and better birds. i know that is not very likely but show me your favs!!!! has anyone ordered Lavender Orpingtons from Valley Farms Hatchery???

When you say “best quality chicks” do you mean like show quality chickens? If you want show quality birds then buying from a breeder is the way to go.
 
i mean chickens that are a low level of show quaility, just good enough to win the fair here. there is a lot of competition but it is not really professional Grade.

Find a breeder and buy their culled chicks. The breeders’ culled chicks aren’t show quality enough for them but for you they’ll look like show quality next to hatchery birds.
 
they are usually really expensive. do you know of any good ones?
I know that when I have my own property I’m going to be breeding a few chicken breeds and selling the culls as pet quality. I’d think that culled birds would go for $15-$25 a chicken depending on the breed/variety.
Check the Poultry Show Central website to find breeders in your area. I’m sure they’d be more than happy to sell you their breeding culls
