So I have an order coming from Meyer's I have ordered 12x from them in the past eggs, chicks, and products, most of the time they have been great. Last couple of times, I had questions about the chicks that I already ordered, and they were almost just "are you ordering -or what..." At that point I already had- order shipped today. I think this whole working from home thing has made people surly, like we are invading their space, I will still order from Meyer's but at this point the warm and fuzzy has left the building. So I wanted to hear from people who have ordered from OTHER than Meyers, and get good feed back for some other hatcheries so I can keep my options open.

My response from MyPetChicken from general inquiries question are great, I’m likely to order from them in the future.

The one thing that I willl say about MyPetChicken is that they have a somewhat limited selection of breeds, and the chicks seem to be a bit more expensive than other hatcheries. However, depending on location they can also ship a very small number of chicks (lowest is 3, which I"m able to do)

My Pet Chicken isn't actually a hatchery. Their birds ship from Meyer. I discovered this after receiving my order recently, since the box was labeled as such.

That being said, I had multiple chats/phone conversations with MPC and Meyer due to a dead chick, and subsequent replacement I ordered, and had nothing but good experiences. Neither company made me feel dumb for asking what I know were incredibly dumb questions.

They’re not entirely the same. Meyer handles the shipping for MPC and MPC leases incubator space from them. There are some
Breeds they share breeding stock of, and others they do not. Some breeds actually are exclusive to MPC, they have their own eggs, and put them into the incubators houses at Meyer.

I have ordered from:

Ideal
Hoover
Murray Mcmurray
Metzer
Moyers
My Pet Chicken
Meyer
Cackle

my favorite ship was Murray Mcmurray.

I have ordered like I said over 12 times from, but they are working from home now, and becoming surly. I was wanting to know about OTHER companies, since I already am familiar with Meyers. Thanks for responding with your experiences from other companies.

I ordered from Ideal late August. Excellent customer service and overnight delivery given they are close by in Texas. Only few options left that late in the year though.
