hatchery chick with broken leg

I received 30 chicks from Meyer Hatchery this morning (shipped Monday, arrived here this morning OH-CO in less than 48 hours) All the chicks were healthy and active, but one got squished during shipment and has a broken leg. My vet happened to be here working on a horse, so she looked at it and said she though it was already starting to heal. She helped me splint it out with a twig and some gauze. Has anyone had any leg rehabilitating this sort of issue? I put the chick in the brooder with the rest, but in an old small order shipping box so it can't get pushed around and piled.

Yes, it should get better never had one before but, have heard of it helping...Just watch it to make sure its not getting picked on by the others, if so then take it out of the box! and find another box to recover.
