I’ve never ordered chickens from a hatchery online before but there are certain chickens I would like but I can’t find any hatcheries that will ship me just a few chickens. My pet chicken says there’s no minimum order but once you get into it apparently there is depending on your ZIP Code. And at my ZIP Code I’d have to order at least nine. I would like to order from Myers but they do not have what I was looking for him and I went to ideal hatchery and Man they charge for everything. There was a small order fee plus the shipping fee plus an insurance fee if you want to make sure there’s no males in there. At that rate a chicken would probably cost like $70. How many charges can you add on? And on cackle hatchery I wasn’t having luck finding much of anything. Does anybody have any suggestions? Anything I should know About ordering online? I would really appreciate any advice

Well I was looking for black Maron’s but I don’t know that I’m going to find any of those that aren’t straight run. Cackle hatchery didn’t seem to have much that was it’s straight run. I haven’t tried the other hatchery. Other than black Marans I was just looking for some colored egg layers. Only pullets. I would love an olive Egger

Well I just looked on Stromberg chickens.com. And saw that five Easter Eggers were $124 I didn’t look too terribly much further. Wow. I got my Easter Eggers for 3.50 each. I mean I got my local he said they weren’t shipped but my goodness
As far as light Brahmas I thought I saw them on Myers and myPet chicken.com. Meyers does small orders you can order as little as three but there is a $25 fee. Which if you’re afraid it’s hard to find I guess it would be worth it. My pet chickens.com says there’s no minimum order but when you get to the bottom of the page you have to put in your ZIP Code and they tell you the minimum order for your ZIP Code. I wish you luck also

Most hatcheries are only going to sell straight run for chicks. Your better to try to find a local breeder or buy from the hatchery and order the minimum especially if they have what you want. Whatever you order you may lose a couple so ordering a few extra would make up for that. If you end up with more than you want you can always sell a few. Plus you have a better odds of getting pullets. It is like playing the lottery. Good luck

My pet chickens.com has a limited availability of light Brahma’s. They are sold out except May 21 there still a limited availability left. I don’t know what your minimum shipping order would be as far as your ZIP Code but just wanted to let you know

Pullets is what I was looking for. I was just trying to find a Nother hatchery to look through that did small orders. The local breeders and hatcheries in my area only offer straight run so I actually have better chances of going online. I know to local farmers that raise chicks But they only raise leg horn’s and Rhode Island Red. I own both already

The TSC in my area is slacking on their variety this year. I did get to New Hampshire pullets and to see in our star pullets from there but everything else they had was straight run. At least in my area. I just never looked for chicks online before so I wasn’t sure where to start And how to know if I hatchery is going to be safe to order from
