So chicks ordered, coop built, license application in the mail, left with waiting until spring.
I got a mix of Maran pullets on order from Meyer - Black Copper, Blue Splash, Golden Cuckoo, and Cuckoo. Can not keep all of them nor raise them all until they start laying.
I have heard Black Copper lay darker, but what about the others? Any trends in egg color as a rule of thumb among these?
Son wants to keep a Blue Splash, was thinking to go heavier on the Black Copper and move most of the others keeping one of each color so the flock has some variety to it.
